Q. What is the ASU Faculty Web Site Resource? Who uses it at ASU? Can I use it?

The ASU Faculty Web Site Resource (ASU/FWSR) is a Web-based application that we are using as a Web content management system. It is installed on the development and main Web servers. It is your central resource for information related to creating and managing Faculty Web pages at Arizona State University.

ASU Faculty Web Site Resource is not available for use outside the ASU faculty.

Q. I'm a full-time (or adjunct) faculty member. How do I get a Faculty Web site?

Q. Are any programming skills required to use ASU Faculty Web Site Resource?

No, you will not need any programming skills to use ASU/FWSR. Plus, there's nothing to install - you access ASU/FWSR right from your Web browser.

Q. Which browsers are compatible with ASU Faculty Web Site Resource?

ASU/FWSR is compatible with the following Web browsers:

Internet Explorer (version 5.5 or higher) for Windows
Mozilla (version 1.4 or higher) for Windows
Netscape (version 7.1 or higher) for Windows
Internet Explorer for Mac [During testing process]
Mozilla for Mac [During testing process]

Problems may occur when using older browser versions because they may not be able to process the ASU Faculty Web Site Resource technology. Should a blank page appear when launching ASU/FWSR, or a page full of placeholder icons appears instead of the editing window after calling up the edit function, we recommend downloading the latest browser version of Netscape or Microsoft and then carry out a full installation so that all required plug-ins are also installed. Afterwards you should experience no problems using ASU Web Site Creator.

Q. There is a error message shown when I tried to edit my content.

If you leave any field blank, or enter the special character ', they'll be an error.

Q. I have successful edit my content, but it doesn't show change on my Web contents.

Some Web browser setting requires you to press "Refresh" to see the changes you made.
